Hello, my friends! My name is Lauren. Welcome to the written beginning of my story! This blog’s purpose is to connect wives with single ladies with students with mothers with whoever else wants in. It is to remind myself and every reader that we are beloved–whether in an earthly relationship or not–because of our Savior’s sacrifice.
I have been molded by my family of four, my friends of many years, and my perfect Savior. My loves are Austin Groves, peanut butter, WKU, long runs, and ice cream.
I am a young newlywed who’s deepest desire is to glorify God through the words I write and speak. Everything about me is flawed, but I pray he uses this site that He might be glorified through us as we become so satisfied in Him.
I got married in August 2016! It was both the best day of my life and the beginning of an adventure I am so excited to call mine. Austin is full of life, kindness, wisdom, and respect for all those he encounters. He is a teacher at Brentwood Academy in Tennessee and I am a college student at WKU preparing for seminary after I graduate in May. We don’t know much about this roller coaster called marriage, but we do know we love it. It can be scary at times, but I don’t know what I would do without such an amazing groom like him to help walk me through this new adventure. Check this page out to get a glimpse of the process leading up to a wedding and everything since.
As The Lord has been preparing me for marriage, He has also been molding my heart as a bride. Not just a bride to Austin, but a bride to Him as a part of the church. Isaiah 54:5 proclaims, “For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name.” Part of my identity is a beloved bride, but not just to my earthly husband. On this page, we will walk through scripture to make these connections. God looks upon His church as cherished–so cherished, in fact, that He sent Himself to earth to innocently take our punishment.
As you can tell, my experience is so little. I have no idea what it is like to hold so many perspectives that some of you hold. Mothers, single women, even brides whose lives look different all have so much to give and I want to showcase what The Lord is doing in their own lives.
Through this blog, I hope to connect to other brides–brides to Jesus and earthly spouses. I will share with you what God is teaching me through His word and through my marriage, I’ll confide fun stories about being a wife, and I’ll show you different tools I use in my everyday life. I hope that as you read through these posts, The Lord will encourage you.
