Learning to Lean Not On My Own Understanding

I wrote this post days after losing our first baby. It is raw and real and exactly how I was feeling in those moments. Since writing these words, God has taught me SO much which I cannot wait to share with you in future posts, but for now, I hope you will read with...

When Work Seems to Creep into Marriage

“Leave work at work” is an easy thing to say when we ask ourselves how to balance work and marriage. But more and more, it becomes second nature to bring work home.

Don’t Prepare for the Perfect Marriage

"You guys are such goals." "You're the cutest couple ever." "I hope I get a relationship like that." Words. They will fill your engagement with confidence. They will spark a sweet pride in this once-in-a-lifetime stage of your life. "Your wedding will be the best day...

To the Future Groom: 8 Nuggets of Wisdom

Engagement is an insane time for brides and grooms to be. There is planning for the biggest day of your life, there is enjoying events in celebration of your story, and there is preparing for a lifetime of love and service with your wife.

20 Questions to Ask Before Engagement

The following list is some of the key things I wanted to know before making the promise of engagement or considering the covenant of marriage. The difference between this list and any other is that they are questions directed toward myself.

The Struggles of Christian Dating

I think we can probably all get on board with the truth that dating is awkward. What do I want? What do they want? How do I know whether it will work out? NOOOO I don't want to DTR yet! As believers in Jesus and followers of Scripture, we have a pretty solid picture...

Valuing Souls Over Winning Arguments

For those who don't know, Austin and I met on our Speech and Debate team in college. Our love for speech bred so many things within us that are helpful to our marriage. We are both outgoing. We tend to be confident around groups of people. We can both talk until the...

Becoming an Effective Leader

Let’s be honest: leadership has many stereotypes in this Genesis 3 world. The world tends to see leadership is seen as a “manly” term. Sometimes it’s associated with people who bark orders to others. I have even this word to describe athletes, CEOs, and all the others...

Compromise in Marriage: the How, When, & Why

Tuesday mornings are a big deal for we bachelorette fans who don’t have cable. Though it’s hard to take the show very seriously, it’s an easy one to get sucked into. At the beginning of each season, the suitors get out of a limo one-by-one, approach the bachelorette,...

31 Prayers for Your Husband

Routines. We are obsessed with them. We get into morning routines, work routines, bedtime routines, and even Bible study routines. They are great in some ways because they help make us more productive, and they are detrimental in some ways because they rarely...

Saving & Budgeting 101

Last week, Austin and I came home from camp with our church, ready to get great sleep for the first time in a solid five days. Much to our dismay, we walked into our brand new home at a sweltering 90 degrees. The air conditioner we were told was brand new had...

How To Prepare for Marriage | A Husband’s Point of View

First and foremost, I am no expert. As I write this blog post I desire that you all hear and feel these words are coming from a broken individual who desperately needs Christ’s daily love and guidance. Through reading about God’s design and recognizing our own...

About Us

Lauren and Austin here! We are a Christian couple living in Nashville, Tennessee. Austin is a teacher and Lauren is a writer. We both love getting to know other people which is why we decided to start connecting with you through content creation.

We believe in authentically sharing our stories with one another. We believe that choosing Jesus and one another impossible without the Holy Spirit and incredible intentionality. We love spending mornings at the gym, listening to sermon podcasts, and making late night trips to Dairy Queen for a Blizzard.

Thank you for stopping by. We would love for you to stay a while, leave some comments, and even join us long term.

We got married in August 2016! It was both the best day of our lives and the beginning of an adventure we are so glad to call ours. We are learning more about the ups and downs of marriage every day, but both agree that it is the greatest blessing of our lives. It is the most sanctifying experience either of us have ever had, and we would love to share the experience with you! Check this page out to get a glimpse of the process leading up to a wedding and everything since.

The Lord has taught us so much individually and together in our time with him. He has also been molding our hearts not only as a bride and groom to one another, but a bride to Christ as a part of the church. Isaiah 54:5 proclaims, “For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name.” We believe that everything we do is in light of and in submission to the Gospel. In these posts, we will walk through Scripture to make these connections. We have gone through Old and New Testament books, we have explored topics like marriage and community, and we suggest books and sermons that we think you might love as well.

“Whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do it all to the glory of the Lord.” Part of living as a loved bride of Christ is doing the day-to-day through the lens of the Gospel. In these posts, you will find everything from recipes to budgeting to living actively in our own community.

We would love to hear from YOU!
