How To Prepare for Marriage | A Husband’s Point of View

First and foremost, I am no expert. As I write this blog post I desire that you all hear and feel these words are coming from a broken individual who desperately needs Christ’s daily love and guidance. Through reading about God’s design and recognizing our own...

Why I Don’t Want to be the Single Girl “in Waiting”: Hannah Beth’s Story

With singleness, many of us are prone to believe that we are “in waiting” for a grand love story. I am one of those. For quite some time I have anxiously awaited the arrival of an amazing, God-fearing man to come sweep me off of my feet. I have spent endless time...

Forgetting the Point of Jesus’s Ministry

One minute his body was covered in boils. He could barely speak. He could barely see the Savior. His pain was a constant ache, riddling his body for years. The world shunned him as unclean, unworthy, and unknown. The next minute it was as if he had been in a time warp...

When Procrastination Sneaks into our Walk with Jesus

It's a trait we all struggle with at some point or another. It sneaks in without our consent, and all the while we are luring it in by our own volition. Procrastination. When I hear the word I immediately think about it in the context of school. Students putting off...

A Letter to Ms. Beth: Thank you.

...By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.  John 13:35 Dear Ms. Beth, Earlier today, my friend Joy asked me if I had read your blog post yet. I said no, but knew by the eagerness in her voice that I should as soon as I...

Creating Better Cooking Habits

If you know me, you know that food and I have a very weird relationship. Let me clarify. I LOVE FOOD. But not all food loves me back. Just before my senior year of high school, I found out that me and gluten do not get along. So no more donuts for Lauren. I also took...

MLK50 Conference: Reflections from Our Living Room

About a month ago, I heard whispers of a conference that the ERLC and TGC (Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission and The Gospel Coalition) would be putting on in remembrance of Martin Luther King Junior's passing half a century ago this month. The conference would...

How to Save your Money without Storing your Treasures

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal." Matthew 6:19-20 Baring...

Ladies of the Living Word: A Study of Biblical Womanhood

"You've got to admit, the Bible is sexist," is a variation of argumentation I have heard many times over the past few years for why Christianity is outdated and discriminatory. For so long, I have not known what to say in response to this phrase. It's something I knew...

5 Steps to Simplifying your Life: The KonMari Method for Christians

These past two weeks have been big ones for Austin and me. We are closing in on the final steps of purchasing our first home. Though we are cautiously optimistic about how soon we will be able to close on a house, we are fairly confident that we will be living in a...

How to Make Bible Study A Habit

Studying the Bible. It is something we all know we should be doing because of God's commands and straight up conviction. It is also something that we are really good at making excuses for. From the new Christian to the old soul who grew up in church to the seminary...

About Us

Lauren and Austin here! We are a Christian couple living in Nashville, Tennessee. Austin is a teacher and Lauren is a writer. We both love getting to know other people which is why we decided to start connecting with you through content creation.

We believe in authentically sharing our stories with one another. We believe that choosing Jesus and one another impossible without the Holy Spirit and incredible intentionality. We love spending mornings at the gym, listening to sermon podcasts, and making late night trips to Dairy Queen for a Blizzard.

Thank you for stopping by. We would love for you to stay a while, leave some comments, and even join us long term.

We got married in August 2016! It was both the best day of our lives and the beginning of an adventure we are so glad to call ours. We are learning more about the ups and downs of marriage every day, but both agree that it is the greatest blessing of our lives. It is the most sanctifying experience either of us have ever had, and we would love to share the experience with you! Check this page out to get a glimpse of the process leading up to a wedding and everything since.

The Lord has taught us so much individually and together in our time with him. He has also been molding our hearts not only as a bride and groom to one another, but a bride to Christ as a part of the church. Isaiah 54:5 proclaims, “For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name.” We believe that everything we do is in light of and in submission to the Gospel. In these posts, we will walk through Scripture to make these connections. We have gone through Old and New Testament books, we have explored topics like marriage and community, and we suggest books and sermons that we think you might love as well.

“Whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do it all to the glory of the Lord.” Part of living as a loved bride of Christ is doing the day-to-day through the lens of the Gospel. In these posts, you will find everything from recipes to budgeting to living actively in our own community.

We would love to hear from YOU!
