Journey to Eden | Our Unmedicated Hospital Birth

Eden Celeste Groves entered the world on May 18, 2019 via an unmedicated vaginal birth. This is her story.

It’s God’s Testimony–Not Mine

I grew up in a really "Christian" environment. I asked Jesus into my heart when I was five years old. I went to a private Christian school where my favorite class was Bible. I took part in every church activity. I loved Sunday mornings. At a distance, the world might...

Lasting Freedom

Over the summer I got my fix on "Fixer Upper." For some reason, I find it deeply pleasing to see a seemingly irredeemable building torn down and built back up. And there is just something about Joanna Gaines that makes me believe that I too can make a room look like...

3 Ways Marriage Reflects Relationship with Jesus

Have you ever had a moment when something just clicked? Something you had such a hard time conceptualizing before? Nine times out of ten these moments don't just happen. They take time, consideration, and maybe even practice. I remember having my first great run. I...

What About Kids? Answering the Infamous Question.

One of my favorite things about writing online is answering the questions so many want to know, but feel weird asking--especially when the answer allows me to talk about my Savior! For those of you who have been following, we are over half-way through Galatians today....

The Lie of Having My Life Together

The balanced Christian life cannot stay in the extreme of corporate spirituality, nor retreat into a radically individual spirituality. Rather, a balanced, stable approach to spirituality must simultaneously embrace both corporate and individual means of...

Calling Out My Own Prejudice

• • • • • • • • • • • For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male or female, for you are all one in...

6 Things Learned in 6 Weeks of Marriage

Marriage is so fun! I think the world looks at it through this super serious lens, and while it is something to be taken seriously, it's also just a good gift God has given us here on earth. It should be enjoyed in every capacity. So far, I'm loving it. Today I am...

Dirty Dishes & God’s Grace

• • • • • • • I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if...

Imitating Jesus in Marriage

When I walked into my apartment from class, I remembered I had received an email notifying me I had a package. Since I still haven't gotten over the whole extreme-excitement-of-getting-mail thing, I rushed upstairs without even waiting to open it. Why wait when your...

Today Was the Due Date: My Miscarriage Story

Today was the due date for our first baby. This baby was only five weeks along when we found out and just under six weeks when God pulled him or her home. It was early. So early that I have a hard time even claiming it as a loss. Even still, tears well up in my eyes...

As each season of my life passes, I feel that I daily learn the same theme in a new way: I have got to be in my word. Whether my scripture reading habit is strong or weak, I never feel that I should spend less time in Scripture. But I am going to get vulnerable for a...

Using Valentines Day as an Excuse for Better Marriage

Valentines day sometimes gets a bad rep. Like any other holiday, there is consumerism alongside all kinds of expectations. Whether  you like it, love it, or hate it, we will be spending the next week surrounded by roses and pink teddy bears and heart-shaped...

About Us

Lauren and Austin here! We are a Christian couple living in Nashville, Tennessee. Austin is a teacher and Lauren is a writer. We both love getting to know other people which is why we decided to start connecting with you through content creation.

We believe in authentically sharing our stories with one another. We believe that choosing Jesus and one another impossible without the Holy Spirit and incredible intentionality. We love spending mornings at the gym, listening to sermon podcasts, and making late night trips to Dairy Queen for a Blizzard.

Thank you for stopping by. We would love for you to stay a while, leave some comments, and even join us long term.

We got married in August 2016! It was both the best day of our lives and the beginning of an adventure we are so glad to call ours. We are learning more about the ups and downs of marriage every day, but both agree that it is the greatest blessing of our lives. It is the most sanctifying experience either of us have ever had, and we would love to share the experience with you! Check this page out to get a glimpse of the process leading up to a wedding and everything since.

The Lord has taught us so much individually and together in our time with him. He has also been molding our hearts not only as a bride and groom to one another, but a bride to Christ as a part of the church. Isaiah 54:5 proclaims, “For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name.” We believe that everything we do is in light of and in submission to the Gospel. In these posts, we will walk through Scripture to make these connections. We have gone through Old and New Testament books, we have explored topics like marriage and community, and we suggest books and sermons that we think you might love as well.

“Whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do it all to the glory of the Lord.” Part of living as a loved bride of Christ is doing the day-to-day through the lens of the Gospel. In these posts, you will find everything from recipes to budgeting to living actively in our own community.

We would love to hear from YOU!
