Last October | Pregnancy After Loss

Pregnancy after loss is complicated. It is ladened with fear. It asks “what-if” day in and day-out. It is a whole lot harder when we try to do it alone.

One Year Ago, Our House was Destroyed by a Tornado.

One year ago, our home was destroyed by the Nashville Tornado. Here’s what we’ve learned this year.

It’s a Relentless Pursuit: Hosea 1

A few weeks ago, someone posed a terrifying question to me: What if Austin cheated on you? First of all, what a conversation starter, right? But it really did make me consider how that might feel. You see, when we entered this covenant relationship, we swore to remain...

Preparing My Heart for a Wedding: Carlee & Matt’s Story

Today you get to read an incredibly precious piece from my sister (almost, at least) and her husband, Carlee and Matt Miller. Carlee and I spent high school across the street from one another. We dreamed of our futures together—both in ministry and as wives....

Doing Life Together: The Good, Bad, and Beautiful

When I was a little girl, I always dreamed of one thing. Not my career, not my wedding day. My marriage. I would play pretend as Arial--only after she was married to prince Eric. I would lay awake at night imagining what my life would be like when a man committed to...

Bearing the Burdens of the Bride

While many people assume Austin and I met through church or some kind of faith community, we actually met in college speech. The first time we locked eyes was my freshman year and his junior year. I was pursuing someone else at the time, and as he explains, he was...

12 Dates to Keep Valentine’s Day from Dying

A few weeks ago, I was serving in the children's ministry at my church. It didn't take long for the kids to get bored with playing with the toys they brought and start asking to pull out the play dough. I was low-key pumped. As we pulled out the different colors and...

From one Mother to Another

• • • • • • • • • • • I am so excited to announce that today is the beginning of a new Friday adventure. Each week I will ask some amazing women to write to you, giving unique perspective on their individual stages of life. This week my sweet mom agreed to write. My...

To the Bride-to-Be: 8 Nuggets of Wisdom

1. Don’t get caught up in the details. I cannot stress this enough. SO many people are going to tell you how fast your day will fly, and you are still not going to grasp it. My thought was, “but I am spending so much time planning! I will remember it.” Nope. Not even...

My Favorite Marriage Podcasts

Let me start by saying this: I am not really into the whole “how-to-marriage” thing. We are all different people married to different people. What does matter is that we are standing on a solid foundation: Christ.

Lasting Freedom

Over the summer I got my fix on "Fixer Upper." For some reason, I find it deeply pleasing to see a seemingly irredeemable building torn down and built back up. And there is just something about Joanna Gaines that makes me believe that I too can make a room look like...

3 Ways Marriage Reflects Relationship with Jesus

Have you ever had a moment when something just clicked? Something you had such a hard time conceptualizing before? Nine times out of ten these moments don't just happen. They take time, consideration, and maybe even practice. I remember having my first great run. I...

What About Kids? Answering the Infamous Question.

One of my favorite things about writing online is answering the questions so many want to know, but feel weird asking--especially when the answer allows me to talk about my Savior! For those of you who have been following, we are over half-way through Galatians today....

About Us

Lauren and Austin here! We are a Christian couple living in Nashville, Tennessee with our one year old daughter Eden. Austin is a teacher and Lauren is a writer. We both love getting to know other people which is why we decided to start connecting with you through content creation.

We believe in authentically sharing our stories with one another. We believe that choosing Jesus and one another impossible without the Holy Spirit and incredible intentionality. We love spending mornings at the gym, listening to sermon podcasts, and making late night trips to Dairy Queen for a Blizzard.

Thank you for stopping by. We would love for you to stay a while, leave some comments, and even join us long term.

We got married in August 2016! It was both the best day of our lives and the beginning of an adventure we are so glad to call ours. We are learning more about the ups and downs of marriage every day, but both agree that it is the greatest blessing of our lives. It is the most sanctifying experience either of us have ever had, and we would love to share the experience with you! Check this page out to get a glimpse of the process leading up to a wedding and everything since.

The Lord has taught us so much individually and together in our time with him. He has also been molding our hearts not only as a bride and groom to one another, but a bride to Christ as a part of the church. Isaiah 54:5 proclaims, “For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name.” We believe that everything we do is in light of and in submission to the Gospel. In these posts, we will walk through Scripture to make these connections. We have gone through Old and New Testament books, we have explored topics like marriage and community, and we suggest books and sermons that we think you might love as well.

“Whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do it all to the glory of the Lord.” Part of living as a loved bride of Christ is doing the day-to-day through the lens of the Gospel. In these posts, you will find everything from recipes to budgeting to living actively in our own community.

We would love to hear from YOU!
