Last October | Pregnancy After Loss

Pregnancy after loss is complicated. It is ladened with fear. It asks “what-if” day in and day-out. It is a whole lot harder when we try to do it alone.

Your Righteousness Is Not Your Relationship Status: A Letter to Singles in the Church

Holiness will not earn you a spouse. Righteousness will not make you a wife. Marriage is not your prize. Jesus is.

My Favorite Faith-Based Podcasts

We have so much content at our fingertips, so let’s make what we choose to take in worth while.

More Grace.

I am so good at convincing myself that this is the last time. This is the last time that I will engage in this sin. This is the last day I will skip my Quiet time (speaking of, I forgot this morning--I'm a sinner--and still have to do that today). This is the last...

The Lie That will Ruin Relationships

That's just the way I am... I just like to be in control. I'm just a yelling kind of person. I just don't like talking about conflict. I just can't find the time to get into my word every day. I just can't help but gossip. I just tell little lies. It's for the good...

Where You Go, I’ll Go

In the midst of election and inauguration season, we hear the word freedom thrown around in conversation and social media daily. But what do we really mean by freedom? I got curious and decided to look it up. Two definitions popped on my screen: "the power or right to...

So You Thought you Found The One…

"Did you know you were going to marry Austin when you met?" so many have asked since I became engaged.  We always hear about that moment. That spark when you think, "This is the one. This is the person I will spend the rest of my life with. This could be my forever."...

But God… An Introduction to Ruth’s Story

I sat in the hospital waiting room clutching my ginger ale wondering if I was living a dream. My heart was simultaneously still and beating out of my chest. "But God... Why her?" I whispered, scared I might lose the first person in my life I loved with everything in...

Dear Husband… Thank You

Three years ago today, my life-long love asked me to be his girlfriend. When I think back to that day, I had absolutely no idea that I might be sitting here, three years later, his wife. I was so young. I am still so young. But I could not be more grateful that...

A Final Admonition: He is Faithful

There are so many things in life I so wish I had an instruction manual for. Marriage, being a friend, college. Then I think about all the instruction manuals I have thrown away in my lifetime--ones I wish I had at some point again. Praise God that He has given us so...

Dating Post-Baby

Here we are, nearly nine months in to parenting, and we are learning more every day about what marriage looks like as new parents. And can I tell you a secret? It’s a lot harder and a lot sweeter.

A Morsel Shared: Words of Wisdom from a Few Years Down the Road

Jessica Loague is a long-time friend of mine who was one of the first people I knew to get married younger than the world might encourage. Little did I know that as I watched her and her soon-to-be husband prepare for this journey, God was teaching me the kind of...

To the One who is Tired of Waiting…

When I take a step back and look at this blog from a distance, I can see how it might be a little off-putting to some. Some specifically who may be single and frustrated, in a messy relationship, or too young to be considering this kind of relationship. It looks like...

How We Aren’t Loving The Body Well

Over the last year I have gotten the opportunity to love on a group of junior in high school girls through my church. Spending time with them has taught me so so much. It's taught me how to be better at snapchat. It's taught me certain aspects of style I don't...

About Us

Lauren and Austin here! We are a Christian couple living in Nashville, Tennessee. Austin is a teacher and Lauren is a writer. We both love getting to know other people which is why we decided to start connecting with you through content creation.

We believe in authentically sharing our stories with one another. We believe that choosing Jesus and one another impossible without the Holy Spirit and incredible intentionality. We love spending mornings at the gym, listening to sermon podcasts, and making late night trips to Dairy Queen for a Blizzard.

Thank you for stopping by. We would love for you to stay a while, leave some comments, and even join us long term.

We got married in August 2016! It was both the best day of our lives and the beginning of an adventure we are so glad to call ours. We are learning more about the ups and downs of marriage every day, but both agree that it is the greatest blessing of our lives. It is the most sanctifying experience either of us have ever had, and we would love to share the experience with you! Check this page out to get a glimpse of the process leading up to a wedding and everything since.

The Lord has taught us so much individually and together in our time with him. He has also been molding our hearts not only as a bride and groom to one another, but a bride to Christ as a part of the church. Isaiah 54:5 proclaims, “For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name.” We believe that everything we do is in light of and in submission to the Gospel. In these posts, we will walk through Scripture to make these connections. We have gone through Old and New Testament books, we have explored topics like marriage and community, and we suggest books and sermons that we think you might love as well.

“Whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do it all to the glory of the Lord.” Part of living as a loved bride of Christ is doing the day-to-day through the lens of the Gospel. In these posts, you will find everything from recipes to budgeting to living actively in our own community.

We would love to hear from YOU!
