Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
(Psalm 90:14 ESV)
My favorite place in the world is nature in the morning. I love to hear waves crashing and dolphins jumping and feel sand between my toes as I look onto the vast ocean and consider the vastness of my God. I love to peek over the mountain tops and imagine God a painter, creating the beauty of what lies before me. I love sitting on my patio and peering on to the little bit of space I call my own, knowing that when God laid that ground, He knew I would commune with Him here each morning during this part of my life. It’s something about the morning that makes each of these places special to me. It’s the fact that when we begin the day satisfied in Him, that’s what shapes the rest of our day. It gives us purpose as we walk into our workplaces or schools. It determines whether or not we watch the thing that is dishonoring to God or speak the words that dishonors someone made in His image. Whether it is a full on Bible study on the sand at a beach or even just looking out your window on your home couch, ask God to fill you in Him today no matter the circumstance. Whether it is looking onto your child or husband or just the miracle of His Word, find the touch of His hand, and be satisfied in His way.
God, I often spend my mornings worrying about what this day will hold. Will you take over my own thoughts this morning, and simply satisfy me in you today? I love you, Jesus. I want to find all my hope in only your name.
