Here’s to New Beginnings

Well hello, my friend.

It’s been a while, hasn’t it?

I am writing to you to update you on what has been going on in my life and give you some exciting news about the future of this space. To make a long story very short, God has been doing a huge work in me in the last few months–a work I needed some time with Him alone.

So now that I feel He is calling me to let you in again, here are some life updates I have been exited to share.

  1. I am working in cosmetics (something I never thought I would do), promoting some products I REALLY believe in and connecting with women in one of our most vulnerable areas–beauty.
  2. I have learned SO MUCH about being the church to our local communities through my involvement in a local nonprofit. I am so excited to tell you more.
  3. I am diving head first into this little calling I feel to write. I have no idea what that means, what God is going to teach me, or to what scale He might use me, but I am excited to follow Him blindly and see.

So that being said, this space is getting a major face lift! As you may know, this blog–though still the same site address–used to be called “Beloved”. It was mostly about being a newly wed and how to live to glorify God through a life committed to marriage.

Here’s the thing.

It is still all about glorifying God, but we are going to really expand everything we are talking about. For example, you might notice some new menu options above. Along with Marriage, Bible Study, and Guest Posts, we now have Cosmetics Line, WifeStyle (which is my personal lifestyle kind of posts), and Vlogs. Here’s why these changes are occurring.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

(Romans 12:1-2 ESV)

A few years ago, I started a blog called “In Every Facet,” the point being, that I wanted to explore serving God in every facet of our lives. After I got married, I switched to exploring the bridegroom relationship Christ has with His church through the lens of my own marriage.

For the last three years, God has had me studying these two things in depth. Today, He has taught me that they do not have to live separately. That a lifestyle in Christ is a lifestyle of living under the vast love that Jesus displayed for His children as He hung from a bloody cross.

It feels silly to say, but I have been living every aspect of my life out separately. I have my Bible Study time, my writing time, my makeup sales time, my work time, and my husband time.

So today, we are writing a new story. It is a story where each aspect of our lives are lived out in one accord. Where we take seriously the command to do everything for the Lord. Where we do not get through our day just to get through it and move along to the next thing. Where when we do dishes or cook or show someone the baller lipstick that we are newly obsessed with, we are doing it not just as a person, but as a person who is loved by King.

So here’s to new beginnings. Here’s to God’s leading and our following. I don’t know where He is taking me and I don’t pretend to know. Here’s what I do know:

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are…

(1 John 3:1 ESV)
