Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
(Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV)
The words in this verse used to be the lyrics to my favorite song. I remember these words being some of the first scripture I had consistently memorized and prayed through. He’ll make your path straight. What does that mean? Does it mean that He will make things easier? That if we trust in Him we won’t have any more unclear paths? As I have learned more and more about scripture as a whole and memorized more verses, its meaning became more and more apparent. As we trust in Him, He makes our next steps clear. That path may be rocky. It may have water to wade through, but we will learn the decisions that are in line with His divine word. So sisters and brothers, don’t look for an open path. Ask the Lord to make it straight. Ask Him to show you His will and way.
Lord, I want to trust in you. I want you to take over my heart completely that I might know your way only and follow you with everything in me.
